Join in the annual Christmas Jumper Day
The annual Christmas Jumper Day at Drake Circus on December 3 will be a spectacle to behold as the normally fashionable people of Plymouth throw style out of the window to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth.
The more outrageous, twinkly and patterned the better as staff join shoppers in an homage to the hand-knitted jumpers once so popular as Christmas presents from mums, grans and aunties.
Drake Circus, have organized the event, which is now entering its third year, and they’re hoping more people than ever before will wear their garish jumpers with pride.
Greg Lumley, Centre Director for Drake Circus, said: “The Christmas Jumper Day is getting bigger and better every year and we are delighted to support St Luke’s.
“People really get into the spirit of the event and it is great fun trying to spot the most festive jumpers, adorned with everything from snow scenes to Reindeer horns.”
“It is great fun for both store teams and the public with raising money for a really great cause at the heart of the event.”
Corporate Fundraiser from St Luke's Hospice Plymouth, Nicola Keen said: "We would really like to thank Drake Circus and all the retailers for choosing St Luke's, your support will help us keep our nurses on the road over Christmas to deliver specialist end of life care to patients at home. Shoppers, please show your support to this festive fundraiser and look out for the bright orange St Luke's buckets - it sounds like it's going to be a fantastic event"
Visitors will be encouraged to donate to St Luke’s in buckets held by volunteers or at one of the many collection points dotted around the shopping Centre.
