Train to be a running leader – for free
Are you a keen runner? Could you inspire others to get on the road to an active lifestyle? Then step up!
Plymouth City Council’s Sports Development Unit is looking for people like you to train as running leaders and help expand their beginners’ running network this summer.
Perhaps you already take a running group for a club and want to help them improve. Or maybe a few of you run on your lunch break but would like to make your training more enjoyable and purposeful.
The one-day ‘Leadership in Running Fitness’ course is designed to give enthusiastic runners all the skills they need to deliver fun and safe sessions.
Deputy Council Leader Peter Smith said: “Running is a great, low-cost way to keep fit and running groups are really taking off in Plymouth. By training as a group leader you can help inspire even more new runners and encourage those who are more experienced to take on new challenges.”
Places normally cost £160 but the team has funding available for people who want to share their passion for running. The next course is being held on Saturday 30 April at Eggbuckland Community College.
