Two Plymouth buildings triumphant in Michelmores Property Awards
The winners of the 13th annual Michelmores Property Awards, showcasing the very best of the South West property and construction industry have been announced − with two Plymouth city projects recognised.
The Help for Heroes Personnel Recovery Centre, Plymouth, submitted by Interserve Construction was awarded Commercial Project of the Year with a Value Over £5m. The Centre, which opened in 2014, provides residential accommodation and state-of-the-art rehabilitation facilities for wounded, injured and sick military personnel.
Meanwhile, Plymouth University's Marine Station building, submitted by Balfour Beatty, won Commercial Project of the Year with a value Under £5m. The Marine Station, located on the waterfront at Coxside, replaces the University's former facility, and supports teaching and research across marine and environmental science.
Emma Honey, Head of Real Estate at Michelmores, said: "This year we received the highest number of entries in the last five years of the competition − signaling a strengthening property and construction sector in the South West. The quality of this year's entries has been very impressive with tough competition in each category, so many congratulations to the winners on their fantastic achievement."
The Michelmores Property Awards celebrates excellence in the property and construction industry, across the commercial and residential sectors in Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset.
