MSC Motorcycles celebrates 30th anniversary with a charity ride in aid of the Devon Air Ambulance
This year MSC Motorcycles is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a Ride Out in aid of the Devon Air Ambulance Trust that will take place on 23 June at Lee Mill industrial estate, Ivybridge, from midday.
Mark Cooper, owner of MSC Motorcycles, who has generously chosen to support Devon Air Ambulance Trust said, “Being a lifelong biker, I never thought I would be in need of the Air Ambulance, but I was.
"After a motorcycle accident last September, in which I broke my femur and damaged my knee, I’m very glad they were there to pick me up off the road and take me to Derriford Hospital and I am organising this ride to be able to give a little back.”
Mark spent four days in hospital and had an operation to insert a rod into his leg, followed by many weeks of recuperation and rehabilitation.
Leaving Lee Mill, participants in the event will head up the A38 to Ashburton where they will follow the River Dart onto Dartmoor passing Dartmeet. They will then turn left at Two Bridges towards Princetown carrying onto Dousland where they will turn left to Cadover Bridge. The ride is approximately 40 miles and takes in some of the most beautiful scenery in the county.
At the finish, there will be a small display of classic bikes at MSC Motorcycles by the original owner of MSC, as well as refreshments. Stands from local motorcycle clubs will also make an appearance.
The entry fee for the event is just £2.00 per bike, however, all proceeds are to be forwarded to charity.
Daytime telephone number for queries regarding the event is 01752 346000.
