Ten Tors success for the Ridgeway and Devonport High School for Girls training group.
All four teams in the Ridgeway and Devonport High School for girls training group are celebrating success following the annual Ten Tors event. The training group comprising of combined teams from both schools all completed well within the allocated time.
With teams entered at all distances for the 35, 45 and 55 mile routes, Bob Costin, team manager for the entire training group could hardly contain his delight and admiration for the successful completion by all four teams.
“This is a fabulous achievement from our students,” said Bob. “And a real credit to all of the training group staff who give up so much time over nine months of preparation and training to ensure our teams are fully prepared to complete one of the most arduous challenges open to children in between 14 and 19 years of age. We can’t wait to get started on next year’s programme.”
Ridgeway student Chloe Gurd in the successful 45 mile team said,”I have dreamed about this day for nine months and worked really hard for a place in the 45 mile team. I could not be happier that my brilliant team finished with time to spare. I will remember it for the rest of my life!”
