MTV have announced today that Dutch superstar DJ and producer Afrojack and drum and bass hotshot Subfocus are set to join the line-up for Day Two of MTV Crashes Plymouth on Friday 29 July.

They will be joining Example and Tough Love for Club MTV – a massive, anthem-packed finale to this year’s event.

After the huge success of last year’s MTV Crashes Plymouth, which saw Tinie Tempah, Steve Aoki and Oliver Heldens whip a crowd of over 30,000 into a frenzy on the sun-drenched Hoe, MTV are back with a double hit of live music from some of the biggest performers in the world.

2014 saw Afrojack release his debut album ‘Forget The World’ which included tracks featuring the likes of Chris Brown, Spree Wilson and Snoop Dogg. He has been regularly featured in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs, ranking regularly in the Top 10. The heavyweight dance producer has also contributed to the single ‘Run The World (Girls)’ by Beyonce and David Guetta’s single ‘Hey Mama’.

Afrojack said: “MTV Crashes are one of THE best events to play – the crowds are awesome. I can’t wait to ‘crash’ Plymouth Hoe this July – see you there!”

Nick Douwma, better known as Sub Focus, has not only cracked the UK Top 40 and dance charts with his explosive drum and bass hits, he has also produced stand out remixes for the likes of The Prodigy, Deadmau5, Rusko and Dizzee Rascal.

A regular on the festival circuit, he has performed at the likes of Reading and Leeds, Glastonbury and the Isle Of Wight Festival, so his bass-heavy DJ set is sure to get the party started.

Sub Focus said: “I’m really looking forward to playing MTV Crashes in Plymouth. It’s a fantastic show with a great line up and I hear you can’t beat the crowds on Plymouth Hoe!”

Also set to crash Plymouth for Club MTV on the second night are Example and Tough Love.

Example first found success with the release of his second studio album ‘Won’t Go Quietly’, which peaked in the Top Ten. He subsequently had two number one singles with ‘Changed The Way You Kissed Me’ and ‘Stay Awake’. Example has since released his fifth studio album ‘Live Life Living’, which charted at number one in the UK Dance Albums Chart.

He said “I can’t wait to be to be performing in front of a massive crowd and looking over the sea! I was there in 2014 and it was an incredible line-up. I had an amazing time and I’m really excited to do it all over again!”

UK duo Tough Love have rapidly risen through the ranks of the house scene since first crossing paths playing the London circuit. Their distinct, recognisable productions, together with energetic and bass-heavy DJ sets, have created a cult following of hardcore fans across the UK and beyond.

Alex and Stefan from Tough Love said: “Last year’s MTV Crashes at Plymouth looked amazing and we can’t wait to be part of the action this year.”

Councillor Glenn Jordan, our Cabinet Member for Culture, said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming another two top acts for Club MTV on Day Two. It’s looking like a great line-up and we’ll have more acts to announce soon for Day One. Whether you go to one night or both, we’re going to have another brilliant Crashes event this summer.”

MTV Crashes Plymouth will be broadcast on MTV’s flagship UK music TV channels, showcasing Britain’s Ocean City in over 35 countries with some electric live performances.
