Jane Castree Dance Collaborations brings guest artist to latest show Perspectives
Jane Castree Dance Collaborations will be presenting their latest show Perspectives at the Barbican Theatre, Plymouth on Saturday 7th March 2015.
The show, created by Plymouth based dancer and choreographer Jane Castree, will also feature guest artist Wayne Parsons who has previously performed with Mark Bruce Company, Sydney Dance Company, Motionhouse and Richard Alston Dance Company.
Jane Castree Dance Collaborations works with collaborators across art forms to create innovative and dynamic dance performances. Perspectives features three works, How We Made This… a new piece created with and performed by dance graduates from Barbican Theatre's Company b Dance and the Support Artists programme, How If I? which confronts the dancer’s habitual movement patterns and explores unusual uses of lighting design and the dance film It’s A Gender Affair, shot on location at Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre, which explores notions of gender and perception.
Jane said: “It has been fantastic to work with such amazing collaborators and with Wayne joining us as a guest artist this brings yet another layer of development to these three contrasting pieces. Plymouth is the company’s base and so we’re really looking forward to our first performance here”
Tickets for the show are available from the Barbican Theatre Box Office www.barbicantheatre.co.uk or on 01752 267131
This project has been funded by Arts Council England and Falmouth University and supported by The Works, Plymouth Dance, Barbican Theatre, Dance in Devon, DanSce Dialogues 2, Interreg and Take Art.
