Teignmouth lad Luke Friend and Scotland’s Nicholas McDonald will join forces for a one-off gig at Torquay’s Riviera Centre this Saturday 18 January.

This is the first time Luke and Nicholas, who came third and second on The X Factor respectively, will have shared the stage since the show ended in December last year. Since then, these incredibly popular teens have remained great friends and are both relishing the idea of doing a show together for their thousands of fans.

The gig will be a fantastic opportunity for the artists’ fans to see the boys perform together with the closest stop on the impending X Factor tour being over 120 miles away in Cardiff.

Luke performed to a sell-out crowd in The Exeter Daily Auditorium at The Exeter Phoenix on Friday whilst thousands of fans were left disappointed not to have got tickets for the performance.

Oli Justice, Managing Director of new Exeter business Justice Media and the event organiser, is delighted to be at the head of this exciting project.

“I was lucky enough to be a part of the incredible job that The Exeter Daily did at The Phoenix on Friday. The reception Luke received on the night from his fans was mesmerising. It was clear to me that the crowd were left hungry for more.

We’re unlucky in the South West in the sense that we’re often overlooked when it comes to big live music tours, as is the case with this year’s X Factor tour. The closest stop on the diary is in Cardiff which is over a hundred miles away. This Saturday’s gig gives people in this part of the country the opportunity to see both Luke and Nick perform together under one roof.”

Since the competition came to a close both acts have been enjoying their new found fame and have each played at renowned live music venues like London’s G.A.Y.

Luke is hoping the concert will be a real celebration.

“To play on the same stage as Nicky again is going to be such a lovely reminder of what a good time we had on the show. It’s going to be such a special night so come along and let’s make it a party to remember!”

Saturday has the ingredients required to go down in history as one of the most memorable showcases of musical talent the South West has ever seen. Tickets are in incredibly high demand so fans are advised not to hesitate and to book as soon as they can to avoid disappointment.

Tickets are available from The Riviera Centre Box Office now. www.ricc.co.uk

Luke and Nicholas will be supported by Torbay soloist, Owen Penrice.
