Flexible childcare at Mama Bear's Day Nursery

Organising childcare is never an easy task which is why one Plymouth nursery has created a flexible childcare scheme to make life easier for busy parents. The Mama Bear’s Day Nursery and Pre-School at Springhill Green, Pennycross, is offering Flexi-care as an extension to the normal booking pattern, meaning parents can choose sessions to fit their lifestyle on a month-by-month basis.

This service is perfect for shift-workers or freelancers whose working hours change week by week, as Mama Bear’s Rachel Kessell explains: “One of the biggest problems parents have with childcare is the rigid structures many nurseries offer.

“Our Flexi-care scheme allows parents to fill out a booking form once a month, rather than having to book set sessions for the whole term. It’s perfect for those with different working hours and even for stay-at-home mums who only want to place their child in a nursery every now and again. The Flexi-care system means parents only pay for what they use, meaning for some it will prove more cost-effective. We’ve had some great feedback from those who have tried it and we’d love to offer it to more families in the area.”

Mama Bear’s Day Nursery and Pre-School was awarded a ‘good’ rating in the latest Ofsted inspection. A family-run childcare organisation, Mama Bear’s aims to provide children with their first vital level of education to give them a head-start when they start at primary school.
