Budding traders invited to 'Love Your Local Market'
As part of celebrating the Love Your Local Market fortnight, Plymouth City Market is inviting local people to trade in the Market to test their mettle and see exactly what life as a Market retailer is all about.
The City market is seeking enthusiastic local producers, farmers, micro businesses and those interested in starting their own business to trade free of charge from the City Market on Saturday 18 May.
Even though shopping patterns have changed in recent years on UK high streets, Plymouth City Market is a still lively, busling community hub that has served Plymouth for over 53 years, with an ever expanding and diverse range of products. City shoppers still enjoy coming to the Market to buy fresh fruit and vegtables, fresh fish and flowers and to browse through art and craft stalls for one-of-a-kind, hand-made items, or conversing with folk who are passionate about jewellery, ribbons & buttons or chunky chutneys!
Market Manager Matt Jones is inviting those keen to try their hand at market trading to attend the event and join with traders in providing some of the region’s finest foods and crafts, a wide selection of clothing, craftwork, plants and produce; raised, grown, made or produced by local people for local people!
To attend the event please email citymarket@plymouth.gov.uk for an application pack.
