June celebrates spectacular 60 years of NHS service
Colleagues and Executive Directors were on hand to congratulate Healthcare Assistant June Foster who has notched up an incredible 60 years of service in the NHS.
Since 1953, starting at Freedom Fields, June has always worked with children and young people.
Talking about June’s achievement Chief Executive Ann James said: “An achievement like this deserves a very personal thank you on behalf of the organisation, the people June has looked after and those that June continues to care for.
"We’re very proud to have June as a member of the team here at Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust.”
June was presented with a certificate and cake by Ann James, Hein Scheffer (Director of Workforce and Development), Kevin Marsh (Deputy Director of Nursing) and Paula Evans (Head Nurse for Children and Young People) in front of assembled colleagues.
Asked what the secret of her long and successful career was, June said: “It comes down to the fact that I do a job I enjoy, I have never not wanted to come to work.
"You have good days and bad days but I’ve always been very happy coming to work, and grateful that the team I work with haven’t asked me to retire!”
