Allison Homes partners with Aster Group to tackle the region’s housing crisis
Regional house builder, Allison Homes South West has exchanged contracts and announced a partnership with South of England and London housing association Aster Group to bring a collection of new affordable homes to Winkleigh, Devon.
The partnership will deliver 23 out of 75 homes in the second phase of the High Moor View development, as a mixture of social and affordable rent, and shared ownership.
The Devon Housing Commission recently released a report that said more families than ever in the region were being priced out of the market. This partnership will help meet the growing demand for good quality affordable housing for local people.
Steve Fowler, Managing Director at Allison Homes South West said: “The need for affordable housing in Devon is so important, which is why we are proud to be partnering with Aster.
“We build our properties with the homeowner in mind; taking pride in what we do. As standard, all our homes are energy efficient meaning lower monthly bills for our customers.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for local people to get access to high-quality housing, a thriving community and a place they can call home.”
Amanda Williams, Aster Group Chief Investment Officer said: “This is our first partnership with Allison Homes and we are looking forward to working together to deliver much needed affordable housing for the local community of Winkleigh.
“An affordable home is so much more than a roof over a head - it represents safety and security and we know the difference that will make to local people who get to call High Moor View home.”
Work on the second phase of High Moor View has already started, and the first homes are expected to be available later this year.
