Drake Circus thanks shoppers for donations to charity appeal

Drake Circus Shopping Centre would like to say a big thank you to its shoppers for donating to its British Heart Foundation (BHF) Bag It. Beat It. event helping the charity generate over 1 million bags of donated items.

The centre encouraged shoppers to give bags of unwanted items including clothes, CDs, DVDs and bric-à-brac. The items now go on to be sold in local BHF shops helping to fund life saving heart research and raise awareness of the devastating effects a sudden heart disease diagnosis can have on an entire family.

Greg Lumley, Centre Director of Drake Circus Shopping Centre commented: “We are delighted to have helped the British Heart Foundation generate such a fantastic amount of donated bags and I would like to thank everyone who took the time to drop off their unwanted items.

“The research that Bag It. Beat It. enables BHF to carry out is life-changing to those who are either beating heart disease or family members who are offering their continuous support. If you picked up a Bag It. Beat It. bag from our shopping centre but didn’t have time to drop it off, you can still donate to your local BHF shop.”
