Lace up your boots and hike to save lives!
Devon Heli Hike is a South West Coast Path challenge which will take participants on a journey from Jennycliff and around to Noss Mayo, taking in breathtaking views of the beautiful coastline.
Supporters can join this event and take on either a 14 or 26 mile trek along both rugged and paved terrain, river crossings, seascapes and rolling hills while taking in stunning panoramic views of the South Devon Coast.
This challenge brings with it the knowledge and feel-good factor that those who take part are helping to raise awareness and much needed funds for their local Air Ambulance charity.
Lottie Clark, Community and Events Manager for Devon Air Ambulance said: ‘We are thrilled to have launched our very first mass participation event in South Devon and we can’t wait to see our supporters from all over the county and beyond enjoying the gorgeous South West Coast Path whilst helping us to raise the vital funds needed to keep our service running all year.
Most people in Devon will recognise our vehicles or will know someone who has been assisted by us. Devon’s landscape, albeit extremely beautiful, is largely coastal and rural and therefore an Air Ambulance is absolutely vital in getting time-critical care to a patient when accidents or illnesses happen.
We hope the people of South Devon and beyond will take on this amazing challenge and support us in this event. Together we can save even more lives!’ In 2024 Devon Air Ambulance (DAA) were tasked to over 2450 missions across the county, responding to 10% more serious illnesses, injuries and incidents across Devon and neighbouring counties than in 2023. The demand for this lifesaving service continues to grow and is a local charity that brings a special peace of mind to those that live in the communities it serves.
