Put a spring in your step at Plymstock Library

Plymstock Library is hosting a special event on Saturday 13 April to showcase its wide range of services.

Visitors will be invited to take part in a storytime session and online workshops, meet a comedian and poet, watch a film and find out more about what the library has to offer.

The WRVS will be promoting volunteering opportunities to help older people in the community and there will be a chance to find out more about reading groups for carers with Get into Reading.

Plymouth Adult and Community Learning Service (PACLS) will be on hand with information about its courses and the library’s Young Writer’s Squad will be dropping in to display its work and promote the group.

Library staff will also be showing people how to use an iPad, a Kindle and other devices, with their ‘Inspect a Gadget’ advice sessions.

The programme for the day includes:

10am to 1pm: E-safety workshop hosted by PACLS (booking essential) 10.30am to 11am: Storytime for five to 11-year-olds 11am to midday: WRVS and Get into Reading drop-in 11am to midday: Demonstration of online reference resources
2pm: Film show: A Monster in Paris (U Certificate, 90 minutes)
