Plymouth's Treby Arms wins Great British Pub award

Plymouth pub wins best food award in national competition.

The Treby Arms in Sparkwell, was named as Britain’s Best Food Pub in the Great British Pubs awards in London last night.

The pub is run by husband and wife team by Clare and Anton Piotrowski , who accepted the award at a ceremony at the London Hilton last night

Head chef Anton who also won BBC’s MasterChef in 2012 said: “"It's an amazing achievement, really good for all the staff to be rewarded for their hard work in this way"

Several other pubs from Devon were present at the event with The Harris Arms in Portgate winning best wine pub.

Rowena Whiteman from the Harris Arms said; “Wine is what we do well wine and good food.

“We’ve got a fantastic wine list that we source ourselves from all over the world and is affordable.”

“At the moment I’m really enjoying a wine called Intimo which is a blend of a cabinet Merlot and a Malbec from Argentina.”

The award cermony was hosted by comedian and Inbetweeners star Greg Davies.
