Stagecoach South West has announced that, with more people travelling for business, retail and leisure, from 27th July 2020 they will be introducing a major uplift to their popular Falcon coach services, seeing the route return to 100% service levels.

The South West Falcon is an innovative interurban coach service that connects Plymouth, Exeter, Cullompton and Taunton with Bristol Airport and Bristol city centre. Launched in 2016, it is the first and only public transport link from the South West to Bristol Airport and operates 19 journeys a day, 7 days a week. All eight coaches feature free Wi-Fi, power charging, air conditioning and leather seats.

Since its launch, the Falcon has rapidly grown in popularity with commuters, students, day-trippers and holidaymakers. The company temporarily paused the service on the 5th April to support the UK lockdown and discourage unnecessary journeys. On the 1st June 2020 the company re-launched the route with a temporary special timetable.

Stagecoach South West said Managing Director Mike Watson said ‘We are delighted to be able to reintroduce a full service level to the Falcon, which has become a firm favourite with travellers across the South West. We’ve had increasing interest from our customers for connections to Bristol Airport in particular. Over the past few weeks we have closely monitored government guidelines and passenger demand, and as restrictions have continued to relax we felt it important to offer our customers a normal level of service.’

The company have made some changes on board their vehicles to keep passengers and their drivers safe while travelling. Some seats are out of use, to enable social distancing, so coaches will have a lower capacity than normal. An enhanced cleaning schedule has also been introduced across their vehicles.  Driver cabs across their fleet of coaches have also been kitted out with a special screen to protect passengers and drivers, plus travellers must also wear a face mask while on board.

To guarantee your seat, online bookings are now open via megabus.com, you can still buy your ticket when you board, but we advise that you do try to use contactless if you can.
