More to come from Rugby World Cup in Exeter
Over the last few weeks ‘Rugby fever’ has hit the nation with everyone getting ready for what was set to be a nail biting Tournament.
Exeter has been extremely honoured to host three fantastic matches at Sandy Park, the Fanzone has seen thousands of people gathering to enjoy an electric atmosphere and a great feel good factor has been brought to the city. With England out of Rugby World Cup 2015, the Tournament is far from over.
Exeter’s Fanzone is still open for six days, with live coverage of the quarter finals, semi finals and final as well as a jam-packed Entertainment schedule and the best local food and drink all from Exeter’s very own Northernhay Gardens.
Cllr Rosie Denham, Lead Councillor for Economy & Culture, said “Of course it is extremely disappointing that England are no longer a feature of Rugby World Cup 2015, but we need to not loose site that the Exeter Fanzone is open with a wide variety of music and entertainment for everyone to enjoy.
"Where else can you enjoy Rugby, entertainment, music, great food and beer, with free entry. Wrap up warm and have fun with friends”.

Saturday 17th October - Opens from 12pm - 11pm.
Quarter Final Matches being streamed:
■ South Africa V Wales - Kick off at 4pm
■ New Zealand V France - Kick off at 8pm
On October 17, there will be two world cup matches streamed live and a whole load of entertainment squeezed in-between the matches; from Emily Howard, a young award winning singer songwriter from Exeter to Lionstar, a huge band with a huge following that mixes classic Reggae, with Dub, Rock, Funk and Soul and have recently played for a number of huge artists.
Sunday 18th October - Opens from 11am - 7pm.
Quarter Final Matches being streamed:
■ Ireland V Argentina - Kick off at 1pm
■ Australia V Scotland - Kick Off at 4pm
The world cup matches will be in full swing once again on October 18, with another two matches being streamed live and loads more entertainment squeezed in to make your experience the best it could possibly be. From a four piece sax-swinging jazz band called The Jive Jacks to the Locked Horns, who will blow your socks off. Listen. Dance. Watch. Relax. It’s time to enjoy the amazing entertainment and rugby at the Northernhay Gardens Fanzone.

Semi Final Match to be streamed:
■ Winner QF1 V Winner QF2 - Kick Off at 4pm
Although, there is only one live streaming of a rugby world cup match, the Fanzone has plenty of entertainment to keep you going throughout the day; from La Vie En Rose, who are musicians with a classical, swing, rock and roots background to Big Noise Chorus with Director Colin Rea, who are a community-based choir.
Sunday 25th October - Opens from 12pm - 7pm.
Semi Final Match to be streamed:
■ Winner QF3 V Winner QF4
As another semi-final gets underway at Twickenham Stadium, a live stream isn’t only to be the only entertainment that will be in the Northernhay Gardens Fanzone. With a set from Spin 2, a folk-fusion group with a powerful yet beautiful sound to the Simmertones; the entertainment will never stop flowing in Northernhay Gardens.
Friday 30th October - Opens from 5pm - 11pm.
Bronze Final Match to be streamed:
■ Loser SF1 V Loser SF2 - Kick off at 8pm
With the bronze position up for grabs at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London, the Fanzone will be live streaming the match and not to mention loads of entertainment will be on before and after the match to keep the atmosphere going for longer. From Dave Can’t Dance a popular Exeter band, known for their Soul and Funk classics to Tatty Hat and Richard James Duo.
Saturday 31st October - Opens from 12pm - 9pm.
World Cup Final Match to be streamed:
■ Winner SF1 V Winner SF2 - Kick off at 4pm
