GO2, organisers of the Plymouth 10k, have announced that they will no longer be operating the Plymouth 10k race from 2015 onwards.

GO2 have organised four hugely successful Plymouth 10k races since 2011. The race was the largest 10k road race in Devon and Cornwall, and was known for its fast, relatively flat, traffic-free route through the city centre.

Unfortunately GO2 have had to withdraw from organising the event due to mounting costs of staging the race in its current format. The race village that runners enjoyed in previous years had reached its capacity in the 2014 race therefore provided no opportunity to grow the size of the entry field.

Jamie Warren, Head of Marketing and Commercial at race organiser GO2, said: "We would like to thank all the runners, volunteers and partners who have supported the event over the years. We are always looking to expand and grow our races whilst giving our runners the best possible experience on race day. Unfortunately we would not have been able to provide this at the Plymouth 10k event this year.”
