Housing Associations' Legal Alliance appoints Foot Anstey LLP to support on two Lots
Housing Associations' legal Alliance (HALA) has appointed Foot Anstey LLP's Developer sector to two of its lots, Lot 3 Development and Lot 4 Property.
Foot Anstey will be called on to provide legal advice on a range of property and development legal services to any of HALA's 35 members, some of which are already clients of Foot Anstey, for the next 3 years.
HALA's framework covers 4 lots: Corporate, Governance and Finance, Housing and Asset Management, Development, and Property.
Founded in 2010 by Kennedy Cater and 4 original members, HALA membership now stands at 35 housing associations across England, who together manage over 280,000 units of housing stock. HALA’s founding aim to provide its members with high quality legal services at exceptional rates, leveraged from its combined legal spend, remains central to its purpose. The commitment to reducing legal spend is achieved by competitive hourly rates and a wide range of fixed fees, and the framework is enhanced by a range of significant value added and social value benefits provided by the panel firms.
Advice from the law firm will be led by Patrick Wetherall (Partner and the firm's Developer sector lead) on Lot 4 Property, Marina Wickens (Legal Director) will lead on the Lot 3 Developer, with Lara Borrett-Lynch (Legal Director) supporting on both Lots.
Patrick Wetherall said: "HALA is innovative in its approach, and we are extremely excited to work alongside its members to provide expert legal advice. Our capabilities in the sector are second-to-none and our team is growing because of it.
"The team is excited to support HALA on two of its Lots because we specialise in supporting and advising affordable housing providers from our multiple office locations across the South of England through our technical abilities."
Foot Anstey will join 16 other law firms on the coveted panel.
The appointment to HALA follows the recent news of Foot Anstey's appointment to Advantage South West's 'Development New Build' and 'General Property' legal panels.
Advantage South West, which delivers better social housing through collaborative working in the South West, is owned by four housing associations and currently has multiple members from across the South West supporting its goal of achieving affordable social housing in the region.
