New Energy Partnership appoints Foot Anstey to support battery energy storage and renewable energy projects
Foot Anstey has been appointed by Warrington-based New Energy Partnership (NEP), a highly experienced team developing battery energy storage and other renewable energy projects in the UK, as a key partner to provide expert legal advice and help enable NEP to progress its pipeline of work.
NEP's stated mission is to use its all-equity investment commitment to deliver more than 2GW of operational battery storage projects across the UK. The company is led by renewable energy expert Andrew Dodge, who is supported by a highly successful and innovative team that has helped deliver some of the largest renewable energy projects in the UK, Europe and North America.
The Foot Anstey Energy & Infrastructure team supporting NEP will include Ian Stubbs (Partner), Chris Pritchett (Partner), Kutahya Cherry (Managing Associate), Suriya Edwards (Managing Associate) and Aliki Zeri (Senior Associate).
Ian Stubbs, Partner at Foot Anstey and the firm's Energy & Infrastructure lead, commented: "Foot Anstey is delighted to have been appointed to support NEP's development of battery energy storage in the UK. This is an extremely exciting time in the UK for development and delivery of technologies that will accelerate our move from reliance on fossil fuels to energy generated from renewable sources, particularly those contributing to grid stability and reliability of energy supply.
Our supporting other experts in this field, such as Andrew and the NEP team, is helping to drive growth and accelerate the UK's journey towards low and zero carbon energy."
The Foot Anstey team has been at the vanguard of energy storage development in the UK, from early Enhanced Frequency Response projects that gave stimulus to the UK's energy storage market, through Fixed Frequency Response and capacity market projects to working on a vastly expanded pipeline of utility scale battery sites. As well as project development, the team is immersed in contracts for construction and operation of assets, funding arrangements and corporate transactions for ready-to-build projects, asset co-location and the very latest optimisation solutions to maximise asset owners' revenue.
