A38 closure following motorbike and tanker collision

Devon and Cornwall Police report that a motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a road traffic collision on the A38 at Saltash this morning, Monday 10 June 2013.

The collision took place at around 7.45am on the Carkeel roundabout and involved a motorcycle and a tanker.

The A38 was closed on the Liskeard side and one lane of the Saltash Tunnel was also closed.

The closure caused delays as police advised motorists to avoid the area if at all possible.

Police have now confirmed that the A38 at Carkeel roundabout was being reopened at 2pm and have thanked motorists for their patience .
