An Aldi colleague in Plymouth is celebrating his work anniversary after 20 years at the UK’s fourth-largest supermarket.

Jon Sheehan, an Assistant Store Manager at the Union Street store, first joined the supermarket in 2004 and has taken on roles at various stores in the region since.

After previously working as a wine merchant, Jon joined Aldi as a Store Manager 20 years ago, and has worked at Aldi’s Bridgwater, Yeovil, Weston-super-Mare, Greenbank and Plymouth stores during his time at the supermarket.

Jon is an integral part of Aldi’s Union Street store team and has gone above and beyond in his role over the years.

Jon has taken part in many of Aldi’s fundraisers to raise money for the supermarket’s dedicated charity Teenage Cancer Trust, including in-store raffles and dressing up for charity events, showing his commitment to giving back to the community and raising around £2,500 in total.

Speaking of his time at Aldi, Jon commented: “I think the best thing about Aldi has to be the people. It’s so rewarding to know that my team are the best at what we do, and this no doubt has an impact on our customers – who I’ve come to know well over the years.”

As for a Specialbuy that gets him running to the middle aisle, Jon said: “Dare I say it so early in the year… I do love Christmas! So, it’s got to be our festive ports and spirits.”

Dan Oakenfull, Regional Managing Director at Aldi UK, said: “With around 45,000 colleagues in the UK, it’s fair to say that people are our biggest and most brilliant asset at Aldi.

“Jon is no exception, and his commitment to Aldi’s values is testament to why we are loved by so many. We look forward to celebrating even more of his achievements in the coming years.

“As well as offering every colleague the job satisfaction they deserve, we invest in a whole range of fantastic training courses year after year, making sure all our colleagues love being a part of Team Aldi.”
