Appeal after fatal collision near Launceston
Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal single-vehicle collision on the A30 near Launceston today (3 January).
Emergency services were called to the westbound carriageway near to Two Bridges around 8.10am after a white Jaguar XK left the road and collided with trees.
The driver of the car, a 59-year-old man from Teignmouth, sustained serious injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The road was closed for five hours for police to investigate the scene.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision. They would particularly like to hear from a woman driving a people carrier-style vehicle who stopped at Plusha Services nearby at the time. It is thought that she may have witnessed the collision.
