Bono hoping for luck of the Irish on St Patrick’s Day
Dogs Trust Ilfracombe is hoping that the luck of the Irish will help one of their homeless hounds find a forever home this St Patrick’s Day.
Eight-month-old Terrier puppy, Bono, was found wandering the streets as a stray before arriving at the Devon rehoming centre. But the staff are looking for an extra special home for him, as he comes as part of a double act after arriving with his sister, eight-month-old, Lucy. They are keeping their paws firmly crossed in the hope that St Patrick’s Day will be ‘a beautiful day’ and they’ll see their luck change for the better and be whisked off to a new home.
Elise Watson, Rehoming Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe, says: “Bono and Lucy are wonderful pups and we’re sure they won’t be here for long! They have had lots of interest already so we’re hopeful that they will have found their forever homes by St Patrick’s Day.
“Both puppies can be a bit nervous around new people and situations, so will need their new owners to take things slowly and help build their confidence through reward-based training and positive experiences with plenty of socialisation in their early years.”
Staff at the centre say Bono and Lucy are typical bouncy puppies who love to play with each other and enjoy lots of fuss from their canine carers.
Elise adds: “We are keen to rehome them together as they have a great bond, it would be a shame to split them up. But taking on one puppy is a huge commitment, let alone two, so we are looking for a home with owners who are around for most of the day to settle them in and who appreciate the demands of young puppies. In the right home, they will make the perfect pets.”
