Conference to showcase the best in cognitive research

Plymouth University is showcasing cutting-edge research that explores how humans think, feel and behave at an open conference next week.

The Cognition Institute Conference takes place on 7 and 8 July at the University’s city centre campus and is free to attend.

From language learning and bilingualism to the effects of a marine environment on health and wellbeing, the conference will explore the many diverse branches of cognitive science through presentations, talks and workshops.

Internationally recognised speakers from Plymouth University and all over the UK and Europe – including the Central European University, Budapest and the University of Amsterdam – will be presenting at the event.

Home to key research themes such as Behaviour, Society and Environment, and Brain and Neural Sciences, the University’s Cognition Institute is an innovative interdisciplinary research environment, which brings together researchers from a broad range of disciplines to work towards the understanding of human cognition.

The Institute facilitates academics collaborating on exciting research projects, including human-robot interaction and the psychology behind artistic creativity, and Dr Stephen Hall, the Institute’s Director, is looking forward to showcasing this work and more.
