Contractors event a big success

Staff from Derriford Hospital recently held an event for local businesses to come and talk to the hospital teams about opportunities available.

The event was held Derriford Health and Leisure Centre, Derriford Hospital and around 100 contractors attended.

Julie Richards, Associate Director of Estates at Plymouth Hospitals said: “The event was a great success! The room was full of contractors engaging with our staff and finding out about how to apply for the many opportunities we have available here. There was a great energy in the room.

“We also had colleagues from The Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust in the room, which gave the attendees the opportunity to network with our two hospital sites.”

Feedback forms were handed out during the event and it was clear that it had been a success, revealing very positive comments. These included:

“Exceeded expectations. The people we met were very engaging and it was a very positive event.”

“Excellent format with facilitated valuable networking.”
The event was informal and included stands for different trades and teams within the hospital. Staff were there to provide information for the attendees, including how to apply for opportunities to come and work for the Trusts in the future.
