Devon law firm improves parental leave with 'family-forming' boost
Devon-based Enable Law has introduced an improved parental leave policy that will give new mothers and fathers six months’ full pay.
The new benefits will maintain the specialist mental capacity, personal injury and medical negligence law firm’s growth trajectory by strengthening its ability to attract and retain talented individuals.
The Plymouth-headquartered firm, which is part of the national Foot Anstey group, previously offered six months’ full pay for adoption, maternity and surrogacy leave.
Other parental leave was at two months’ full pay but the enhanced policy means all Enable Law colleagues, regardless of gender, will enjoy access to six months’ full pay.
New benefits will also be provided for hopeful and expecting families including access to reproductive healthcare. There will also be enhanced neonatal support and pay during pregnancy, a parental returners’ hub and back-up care offering.
These initiatives form part of Enable Law’s commitment to offer at least one per cent of net profit to responsible business causes.
Rob Antrobus, the Plymouth-based head of Enable Law, said: “Enable Law prides itself on putting people first and that’s why we have introduced one of the best parental leave packages in the legal sector.
“Offering six months of fully paid parental leave gives all our people the time, support and financial security they need to care for their families and to support personal growth and fulfil professional potential.
“The family-forming’ package represents a vital step towards achieving greater equality in caregiving responsibilities and it will strengthen our ability to attract and retain talented and dedicated individuals.”
As well as its Plymouth HQ, which is located at Salt Quay House, Sutton Harbour Marina, Enable Law has offices in Exeter, Bristol, London, Truro, Taunton and Southampton.
