Fire Service suspects railway blaze started deliberately
Firefighters believe that the cause of a fire on railway sidings in Keyham, Plymouth may have been deliberate.
Two appliances from Camels Head Fire Station attended reports of smoke issuing from a building on the railway sidings off Admiralty Road, early on Saturday morning (31 August). On arrival crews found an amount of plastic piping on fire outside a small, three metre by three metre building. Crews were able to extinguish the fire using a single hose reel.
The fire damaged the plastic piping and electrical apparatus to the exterior of the building.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue reports that British Transport Police and Network Rail have been informed of the incident and will make an attendance.
There has been no effect on rail services.
