Staff at Derriford have said a  massive thank you to Hurdwick Golf Club  for generously donating £171.00 to the talipes service through The Children’s Happy Hospital Fund.

In November, the golf club held a charity golf tournament, to raise money for the talipes service at Derriford Hospital, on behalf of a patient that they have worked with.

The son of one of the club members was born with club foot syndrome, where the foot points upwards and outwards, thus preventing the correct development of the leg, foot and ankle.

Nigel Schofield, a member of the club said: “The charity event was a superb day and I would like to thank everyone for taking part and raising money for a great cause.”

Faye Nightingale, Paediatric ESP Physiotherapist said: “We are extremely grateful to the Hurdwick Golf Club for the kind donation that they have made. “This will allow us to replace and update our baby baths, which are used weekly in the clubfoot clinic, get a child friendly wobble board or other balance activity and will also allow us to get some Theraband (a range of different resistance) for the older clubfoot children, to use for resistance exercises.”
