Seven magnificent good causes in and around Tavistock are sharing in specialist retirement developer Blue Cedar Homes’ first Project Community Fund.

The Fund has made available £5,000 for community-nominated causes situated within a radius of Kelly Gardens, the collection of 12 freehold detached houses for the over 55s constructed by Blue Cedar Homes adjacent to the beautiful grounds of the former Kelly College.

The beneficiaries are Tavistock Heritage Trust, Tavistock Specials, Whitchurch Wayfarers Cricket Club, the Tavistock section of Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team, Catalyst, Debt Advice Tavistock Area (DATA) and Tavistock Area Support Services (TASS).

Blue Cedar Homes is applying the Project Community Fund to every new development it undertakes. Chris Fayers, Blue Cedar Homes Sales and Marketing Director, said: “We’d like to thank all the organisations that came forward and congratulate those selected for funding. They are a truly inspiring collection and Tavistock is fortunate indeed to have them.

“We have always worked hard to support the communities where we build new homes. The Fund is entirely separate from any planning obligations and has been created because we believe in being a good neighbour and responsible community member.”

The new Blue Cedar Homes properties at Kelly Gardens, just minutes from the old Mount Kelly school, are all detached freehold houses, with a garage and parking space. These beautiful homes have been designed with changing needs in mind offering a flexible layout and a dedicated Estate Manager to take care of gardening, waste management, window cleaning and external redecoration.
