Greyhound who spent over a year in Dogs Trust care to celebrate first Christmas with forever family
Dora, a four-year-old Greyhound, is celebrating her first Christmas at home, having been recently adopted from Dogs Trust Ilfracombe.
A sweet and gentle pooch, Dora originally arrived at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe in April 2022
She was initially adopted in May 2022, however, was sadly soon returned after her adopter’s work life became busier.
Despite soaking up some sofa time in foster homes, it wasn’t until over a year later, in August 2023, that Dora eventually found her forever home.
As Dora had been with Dogs Trust for over six months, she was classed as an Underdog, to the bafflement of staff - who couldn’t understand why no one wanted to take her home!
But now Dora and her new family are looking forward to spending their first Christmas together.
Dora is a lovely girl who adores her food and exploring the outside world on walks – where she enjoys wearing a warm coat in the winter.
Elise Watson, Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe, said: “We are so happy that Dora has been able to find her forever home!
“She was a firm favourite with our staff here at the centre. It was a mystery why no one would take her home!
“Everyone at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe wishes Dora and her new family a very happy Christmas – and we hope that Santa Paws visits!”
