Hospital festive fundraising makes £1108 for local charity
Big-hearted patients, visitors and members of staff at Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre have raised an amazing £1108 through a number of festive activities, in aid of the hospital’s chosen charity – Improving Lives Plymouth.
The fundraising activities included a Christmas Craft Fair with gifts and goodies hand made by members of staff and patients; the sponsored wearing of Christmas jumpers every Friday in December and; a raffle, the prizes for which included a Kitchen Aid Artisan Cook Processor worth £800.
Mark White, Hospital Director at Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre, commented: “My congratulations and thanks go to my colleagues, our patients and visitors for such a superb fundraising effort. It’s been something in which everyone has been involved, and sums up the working environment we enjoy here as one big ‘family’.”
George Plenderleith, Chief Executive at Improving Lives Plymouth, added: “It has been barely a month since we started working with the team at Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre, and already they have raised this impressive sum to support our work. We are immensely grateful to them and we are looking forward to developing our relationship throughout 2020.”
