Man dies after hospital refuse lorry crash

Police were called at 7.15am to reports of a collision involving a refuse lorry within the grounds of Derriford Hospital, Plymouth.

It is believed the driver of the truck was involved in a collision with the vehicle. No other vehicles or people are believed to have been involved at this time.

The driver has been declared deceased at the scene and the Health and Safety Executive has been informed.

The deceased man is believed to be a 57-year-old man and next of kin have been informed.

Police remain on the scene for investigation
