Motorcyclist seriously injured in collision near Plymouth Hoe

Police report that a motorcyclist has sustained serious injuries after his red Honda motorcycle was involved in a collision with a blue Renault Scenic in The Hoe area of Plymouth.

The incident happened just before 8pm on Thursday 3 October on the junction of Athenaeum Street and St James Place.

The injured rider is a man in his early twenties. He has not been named. It is understood that although his injuries are serious, they not thought to be life changing or life threatening.

The motorcyclist and female Renault driver are both local to the area.

The road was closed while emergency services carried out their work and was re-opened at 12.30am.

Police from the serious collisions investigation unit would like to hear from any witnesses who may have either seen the collision or either the motorcycle or car shortly before the incident took place.
