Plymouth City Council’s book of condolence for Nelson Mandela has been moved to Plymouth Central Library at the bottom of North Hill.

Members of the public are invited to sign the book in the lending section on the ground floor, which is open from 9am to 7pm on Mondays and Fridays, 9am to 5.30pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays.

There is also a small accompanying display of books about Mandela’s life and work.

Council Leader Tudor Evans said: “Nelson Mandela was an inspiration not only to the people of South Africa fighting apartheid but also to people across the world. He has left a lasting legacy. The book of condolence is an opportunity for people in Plymouth to pay tribute to a great man.”
