New Community Choir for Exmouth area
Do you love to sing? then a new community choir starting in March may be just what you are looking for.
Bath music man Grenville Jones started his first Good Afternoon Choir back in 2009 in his home City of Bath. Now there are over 30 Good Afternoon Choirs across England and Wales with over 1,500 enthusiastic singers belonging to these mixed-voice community groups.
“Our singers come from all walks of life and we differ from other community choirs as we SING IN THE AFTERNOON!” says Grenville.
“Previous singing experience is not necessary, just come and give us a try.”
Leading the Exmouth Good Afternoon Choir will be Craig Northway, who lives locally. Craig has enjoyed 20 years in the theatre industry and has a passion for music and performing. Craig explains that singing in a Good Afternoon Choir is for everyone. There are no auditions, the music is fun, varied and for anyone attending the first rehearsal is free of charge.
The Exmouth Good Afternoon Choir meets on Tuesdays from 12.30pm-2.30pm at Holy Trinity Church (2 Rolle Road, Exmouth EX8 2AB) and will launch on Tuesday March 18.
Choir founder Grenville Jones says:
“Singing in the afternoon is brilliant, there is no hassle about driving in the dark and for further information on our choirs please see www.goodafternoonchoir.org. Come along and meet us.”
