Pete Waterman to rededicate attraction’s steam train

Beer, Devon - Pecorama, one of Devon’s most charming and well-loved attractions, is gearing up for a spectacular week of half-term festivities, culminating in the much-anticipated Big Engine Gala Weekend, to celebrate the 20th birthday of one of its cherished locomotives, Claudine - named after Claudine Pritchard.

To mark this special occasion, renowned railway enthusiast and music mogul Pete Waterman OBE will be making a guest appearance on Saturday 31st May, to lead the official rededication ceremony in honouring Claudine’s legacy and the joy she’s brought to thousands of families over two decades. Claudine and Sydney Pritchard first opened Pecorama just over 50 years, to invite visitors to ride on its heritage steam trains and see the model railway product that it makes for customers all over the world. The parent company and model railway manufacturer, PECO, is entering its 80th year and is the largest supplier in the world of model railway track, with all if its products made here in Devon, and which was also founded by Sydney and Claudine Pritchard.

Over May half-term Pecorama will be pulling out all the stops with a jam-packed week of activities for all ages. From free model workshop sessions and garden trail adventures, to mini-golf, new play areas, and the renovated model railway exhibition - there’s something for everyone to enjoy, along with fresh cream teams & delicious locally made ice-creams.

Furthermore, to celebrate Pecorama’s 50th anniversary this year, visitors can enjoy 50% OFF all tickets for the entire season, and during half-term week, by using code ‘MAY50’ when booking online. With live music, steam train rides, ice creams, cream teas, and vibrant performances throughout the gardens, this is a family-friendly celebration not to be missed.
