Plymouth 10K company challenge winners
Staff from race sponsors Mansbridge Balment have been crowned the winners of the Plymouth 10k Company Challenge, after securing an overall winning team time of three hours ten minutes and five seconds.
Businesses entered the Company Challenge, with each overall team time made up of the top four fastest finishers within a mixed male and female team. Darren Lawson, Managing Director at Mansbridge Balment, said: “As a Plymouth company we really wanted to show our support for the event and the charities involved. Participation on the day was something that we were really keen to push and we’d like to thank all the staff and participants for making it such a great success.
“Our Mansbridge Balment team of runners was made up of both staff and Facebook competition winners, and we are delighted to have won the Company Challenge. We look forward to ‘defending’ our newly acquired crown in 2015!”
Jamie Warren, Head of Marketing and Commercial, said: "Congratulations to the team from Mansbridge Balment who took on the Company Challenge! As a new addition to the 2014 race, we hope that more organisations will be inspired by their efforts, and take on the challenge next year!”
2,009 runners took to the start line of the 10 kilometre race, which is now in its fourth year and growing hugely in popularity. If you want to join the many runners who used the Plymouth 10k as a stepping stone of encouragement to take on the city’s half marathon distance in April, entries are now open at www.plymouthhalfmarathon.com!
