Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust shortlisted for CIPR PRide Awards

Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust's Communications Team has been shortlisted for two Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) 'South West PRide Awards'.

The CIPR PRide Awards recognise the outstanding talents and achievements of public relations practitioners across the UK’s regions and nations. They are the most prestigious and rigorous awards of their kind.

The team has been shortlisted for its role in the successful relocation of the Royal Eye Infirmary to Derriford Hospital earlier this year.

Focusing on the end of one era and the start of another, the team worked hard to ensure that staff, patients and the public were kept up-to-date with relocation plans while maintaining confidence in high quality patient care.

The team has been shortlisted in the ‘Not-For-Profit Campaign’ category which recognises the most effective work done by a charitable or not-for-profit organisation and in the ‘Public Sector Campaign’ category which is awarded to a campaign that has been designed to promote the policies, achievements and services of a public sector organisation, to its stakeholders, through the use of public relations activities. The team will find out if it has been successful later in the year.

Chief Executive Ann James said: “The communications team worked hand-in-hand with our staff in the REI and wider stakeholders to ensure well planned and executed communications supported a smooth the move. This was important in keeping services running for patients.

“It is excellent that the team’s work is now being professionally recognised by being shortlisted, and much deserved.”

The Chartered Institute of Public Relations is the professional body for public relations practitioners in the UK. With over 10,000 members involved in all aspects of the public relations profession, it is the largest body of its type in Europe.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the CIPR PRide awards, which will be held on 22 November at The Bristol Hotel, Bristol.
