Police call for witnesses to unprovoked attack on Plymouth man
Police are appealing for witnesses to what they describe as an unprovoked assault after a man was set upon by a group of men in Plymouth.
The victim was walking on Exeter Street around 3.30am on Saturday (29 June) when he was approached from behind by a group of men.
He was punched on the back of the head and knocked to the ground before being set upon by the group who kicked his body and stamped on his head. The group then ran off.
The victim, in his 20s and from Cawsand, suffered a broken nose, a black eye and sore ribs, and was treated at Derriford Hospital for his injuries.
Police are appealing to anyone who saw the attack to contact them and anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting crime reference EC/13/6197.
