Pride candles flicker once more
After two years of cancellations, Pride celebrations are finally happening across the country - and The Recycled Candle Company’s vibrant rainbow candles are once again keeping the flame burning for the LGBTQIA+ community.
The limited edition Pride candles are made from 100% recycled wax and are available in the iconic single heart shape.
These large sized candles (85mm x 120mm) are unfragranced and have a burn time of between 50-70 hours depending on the mix of recycled wax in each batch. 10% of sales of the candle are donated to LGBTQIA+ charities such as Stonewall.
The Pride candles have become extremely popular, particularly after a certain television presenter remarked how much she liked them.
Co-founder of the eco-business, Sargon Latchin says “We were thrilled last year when Steph McGovern showcased the Pride candle on Channel 4’s Packed Lunch; it gave us a real boost to see our products on the small screen.
“We’ve been asked about them so many times – so it simply made sense for the rainbow candles to become an annual thing.”
The candles are made from wax that has been donated to the business, melted down and filtered before being poured into moulds. Due to the layers of colour, the Pride candles require an intensive production schedule.
The rainbow candles enable Sargon and business partner Richard Hills-Ingyon to show their personal support for Pride and the LGBTQ+ community.
Richard adds “We’re both proud to be part of the community and this is one way we can get involved by raising awareness as well as funds.
“We love that our Pride candles bring together our passion for the environment with our passion for the community.”
