Racecourse team bolstered by new appointment

The team at Newton Racecourse has been bolstered by the addition of new member, Jenny Paton, who joins as Business Development Manager.
Although a new role for Jenny at Newton Abbot, it’s not the first time she has added her experience and skills to the South West racecourse; Jenny first worked for the racecourse as Marketing Manager ten years ago before moving to another iconic Devon brand, Paignton Zoo.

She intends to put the expertise she has gained over the years in the marketing and fundraising sector to good use at Newton Abbot Racecourse. Jenny is looking forward to helping to raise the profile of the course not just as a premier summer jumps course, but as the South West’s go to venue to hold conferences, meetings, concerts, exhibitions or any other type of event and activity.

Jenny’s new role at the racecourse will involve acting as a representative for the course locally at networking events and exhibitions and also attending meetings at other racecourses across the country to ensure Newton Abbot is delivering to and meeting best practice.

Jenny adds “I am really excited about the new racing season and looking forward to its start on Easter Saturday, 31 March and the great opportunities it will bring to welcome and encourage people to use our incredible facilities all year round.

“It’s a pleasure to be back working with Pat and his professional team at the racecourse – we have an exciting and busy year ahead – I can’t wait to get stuck in!”

One of Jenny’s first tasks will be looking at the feasibility of introducing new events to the racecourse as well as looking at potentially resurrecting a number of exhibitions that were held there in the past. This year the racecourse is also looking to launch a new Corporate Members’ Club which will enable local businesses to benefit from national publicity, by linking with the racecourse. Jenny will take the lead on this initiative and is looking forward to working with local interested parties.
