Signed snooker cue stolen in Plymouth

Police are appealing to the public after a snooker cue signed by legends of the game including five-time world champion Ronnie O’Sullivan was stolen in Plymouth.

The unique snooker cue and case is owned by Stuart Craig (pictured) who won the cue in raffle run by Snooker Legends and was signed by Ray Reardon, Ronnie O’Sullivan, Jimmy White, John Virgo and Michaela Tabb.

Stuart was returning from his mums home where he was showing her his prize when he was approached by a stranger on Ferrers Road, St Budeaux at around 5.40pm on Sunday 23rd August.

After a short conversation the cue was snatched from Stuart and the stranger then demanded £20 for its return. Once Stuart gave the man the money, he fled towards St Budeaux Square with both the snooker cue and the money.

The man is described white, 5”8 tall, slim build wearing dark glasses and a hoodie.

Detective Constable Rob Gordon said: “We are appealing for witnesses to the theft, but we would also like to hear from anyone locally who has been offered the chance to purchase this unique cue and case. It has been signed by a number of snooker legends and is a unique piece of sporting memorabilia; we are desperate to reunite Stuart with his prize.”
