Tavistock Gets a Bright Spark
A new electrical wholesaler opened its doors in Tavistock this week and created five new jobs.
More than of 30 local electricians joined in the official opening celebrations at Worth Electrical Wholesalers on Lower Westbridge Industrial Estate (just off Pixon Lane) on Friday when it was officially opened to the trade and public.
Owner, Neil Worth who has been working in the electrical trade for more than 20 years said, “I have always wanted to work for myself and recently thought – if I don’t do it now, I never will. We have been working flat out over the last few months to get ready for our opening, fitting out the shop and store, securing top notch suppliers and building relationships with customers. It’s been hard work, but worth it and I am really looking forward to the future!”
At the official opening Worth Electrical not only provided guests with ‘Grup Up’ bacon baps, but also had seven key suppliers on hand demonstrating and showcasing their latest products.
Danny Slaughter of A1 Electrical said, “It’s brilliant to have a wholesaler here in Tavistock It makes perfect sense and I don’t know why someone didn’t open one years ago. Being able to shop local for my supplies saves me a lot of time that would otherwise be wasted driving around the county. With Worth Electrical they not only have a great location with lots of parking but they also have masses of expertise and experience. I wish Neil and his team well and look forward to being one of his many valued customers.”
Chair of Tavistock Chamber Neal Taynton-Young said: “It’s fantastic to see Tavistock welcoming another new business and providing a much needed service to the town. Having spoken to many electricians it is clear that this new store will have a steady flow of customers who have been crying out for a local wholesaler. We are delighted to welcome Worth Electrical to Tavistock & District Chamber and we all wish Neil and his team well with his new venture.
