Tavistock Neighbours Celebrate Lottery Win

Ten people in Tavistock are celebrating after winning £1,000 each thanks to their lucky postcode. 

The Tamar Avenue neighbours netted the windfall when PL19 9JA was announced as a Daily Prize winner with People’s Postcode Lottery on Thursday 9th January 2020.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson sent his well-wishes to the winners. He said: “What an amazing surprise and a great way to start the year! Congratulations to all our winners.”

A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised over £500 million for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.

This draw was promoted by the Wildlife Trusts which have received over £10.7 million in funding from the players of People’s Postcode Lottery. The trusts run around ten thousand wildlife events each year and work to make sure that everyone has access to wildlife and nature in their daily lives.

Many good causes close to the winners have also benefitted from players’ support, and the next opportunity local charities will have to apply for funding will be 21st January.
