Tinside Lido open for a further week
Tinside Lido in Plymouth is to remain open* a week later than normal, closing now on 15 September following an incredibly successful season.
This decision has been taken by the leisure operators, Everyone Active, after a season where demand for the outdoor pool has almost doubled and because the forecast for the Plymouth area for the next week looks favourable.
Commenting on the decision, David Greenwood, contract manager for Everyone Active in Plymouth said: “We are delighted to be able to keep this stunning facility open to the public for longer this year.
"As with most things, it does depend heavily on the weather but the long range forecast is looking promising for Plymouth. We would encourage anyone who has not already used this great outdoor pool this season to come down and join us and make use of the pool before it closes.”
Councillor Peter Smith, Deputy Leader for Plymouth City Council, said: “It’s fantastic Everyone Active have decided to keep Tinside open to make the most of the lovely weather we’re having. Let’s hope it lasts so people can have one last dip in our lovely Lido!”
The centre will be reverting back to its normal opening hours of 12pm – 6pm daily, closing for the final time for the season on Sunday 15 September.
*The opening is subject to the weather and the continued demand from the Plymouth community.
