Torquay Neighbours Celebrate Lottery Win

Wednesday is off to a winning start for ten people in Torquay who have scooped £1,000 each all thanks to their postcode.

The Peasland Road neighbours netted the windfall when TQ2 8PA was announced as a Daily Prize winner with People’s Postcode Lottery on Wednesday 16th September 2020.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson sent his well-wishes to the winners.

He said: “A massive congratulations to everyone in Torquay who has had a golden envelope delivered to them - what better way to start the day than getting a cheque in the post! I hope they can treat themselves to something special with the cash.”

A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised over £600 million to date for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.

This draw was promoted by WWF UK, which has been awarded more than £15.2 million in funding raised by players, allowing it to help build a future where people and nature can thrive.

Many good causes close to the winners have also benefitted from players’ support, and local charities can next apply for funding early next year.
