Trust10 pilot launches at Saltram
A new monthly running initiative is being launched at Saltram on Sunday 23 August. Trust10 is a free event to encourage people to get outdoors, take up a new challenge and explore special places.
The National Trust has created a series of 10k routes at a selection of properties, with Saltram as one of the first. The estate has devised a course which will take runners along its many woodland tracks and trails, providing vantage points with views across the River Plym.
Held at 9am on the fourth Sunday of each month, this run marks the beginning of a national pilot series; and Saltram will be gathering feedback from those participating, volunteering and supporting in order to help develop the event. Although there is no timing system at present, there will be an official start and finish point; so runners are encouraged to bring their own timing devises.
‘We’re really excited to be trialling the Trust10 here at Saltram; it will be a great opportunity for people to have a regular goal each month, as well as a chance to explore the estate. We want as many runners as possible to enjoy this special place, so feel free to run as you are, as a club, or with family and friends,’ said Charlie McGuin, Sports Development Officer.
The Parke Café will also be open from 9am with a T10 breakfast offer. For more information or to volunteer for the events please contact: rust10@nationaltrust.org.uk
