Literature Works has opened public voting for the next Plymouth Laureate of Words, inviting people to choose who will be the city’s next literary voice.

The Laureate role celebrates Plymouth’s vibrant literary culture by championing local voices, telling community stories, and writing about the city through creative commissions and events. A partnership between Literature Works, Plymouth Culture and The Box, the Laureate brings people together through the power of words.

Following Rosemarie Corlett’s successful two-year term, a new shortlist of four inspiring writers is now online, each hoping to carry the literary baton. Residents can watch their video pitches and vote online at bit.ly/plowvote25.

Reflecting on her experience, Rosemarie said:

“It’s been such a privilege to get creative with people in Plymouth over the last two years. Plymouth is a city with many voices and tales to tell. I hope the next Plymouth Laureate of Words enjoys the opportunities as much as I have.”

This is a chance for readers, writers and creatives across the city to shape who represents Plymouth in words – spotlighting its culture, creativity and stories.

Voting is open now.
